The site redesign includes greater mobile responsiveness and a more visually-engaging experience for visitors. This upgrade also allows U.S. service members located across the five regions of the globe that AFE serves to more seamlessly access information on upcoming events, touring artists, view media galleries and connect via social media.
“The focus of our site redesign went beyond aesthetics, it was simply time to go in this new direction,” said Major Jody Wynans, Chief of Armed Forces Entertainment. “Creating a more mobile-centric user experience—making sure our users, especially overseas, can easily access and enjoy the content we’re sharing was a priority. The world around us, including our military audience, has gone mobile so we really wanted to create a more interactive experience. Our goal was to provide relevant and engaging content that offers an extension of the AFE show experience, a place to connect that truly captures the essence of our AFE tours, not just for our military folks but for entertainers and the public, alike.”
The new, uncluttered look of the site allows U.S. service members to more effortlessly find performance details specific to their region. Other notable updates include media gallery features, a social stream and dramatically increased download speeds. Visitors to the site can now peruse content with ease such as on-tour videos from AFE artists like actor, comedian Adam Devine, Grammy-winning, hip-hop artist Lecrae and NFL players, alumni and cheerleaders. The image and video galleries showcase a variety of celebrity and up-and-coming AFE performers across genres and give users an inside-look into what they can expect from an AFE show. With the addition of a social media stream, users can keep up-to-date with the latest AFE social content across platforms, and connect directly from the home page.
“The site is now a great way for our service members to see what kinds of AFE performances are going on not just in their area but at military installations around the globe,” said Wynans. “Through each one of our shows, we set out to bring our U.S. military personnel and their families abroad, a touch of home—we’re thrilled that our new website has amplified our ability to do this.”
