NFL Legend Marshall Faulk Honors Local Athletes
News

By Joe Scalzo, Canton Rep
Former Colts and Rams running back Marshall Faulk spoke with Joe Scalzo about his upcoming address to student-athletes in Canton, Ohio. Faulk was able to speak via phone call while touring with AFE in Curacao, Guantánamo, and Honduras. He joined fellow Hall of Famer Warren Sapp during the Home for the Holidays tour. They appeared at bases, taking deployed troops through skills challenges while cheerleaders performed.
This was Faulk’s second tour with AFE. In 2018, Faulk traveled to Korea on the Pro Football Hall of Famers Tour to meet the troops.
“So many people did so many things for me to be here today,” Faulk told Scalzo. “The least I can do is speak to kids, shake their hands, let them see that I am no different than them. To let them know that if you work hard and bust your butt, this is a place in life you can reside as well. It doesn’t have to be in sports. Whatever you decide to do, you can be at the top of whatever it is.”
