Heat Wave Summer Lookback
News

Were you there when Stone Temple Pilots lit up the night on the 4th of July during Exercise RIMPAC at Joint Base Pearl Harbor in 2018?

The first live firing of the AGM-158C Long Range Anti Ship Missile certainly wasn’t the only thing making waves in the Pacific that Summer.
Over 25,000 Naval personnel from 26 countries took part in RIMPAC, leading to epic performances of Interstate Love Song and Plush on Independence Day to a packed-out crowd, as fireworks dazzled the Hawaiian sky.
Since the first annual Heat Wave event in 2018, Heat Wave has set the standard for concert tours for the US military and their families stationed across the five regions of the globe.
Drawing inspiration and nostalgia from classic summer festivals such as Coachella, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza, the AFE Heat Wave concert series was created to bring a little slice of home to our brave military servicemen and women who are away from their families and friends during the heat of summer.

Armed Forces Entertainment set out to recreate the crowds, excitement, and electricity of a summer music festival, distilling that energy into a package that could be brought on tour to reach troops across the globe, no matter where you’re stationed.
As we look back and celebrate our favorite AFE Heat Wave memories, we’ve put together this Heat Wave Throwback playlist with some of the best AFE artists and headliners to ever grace the stage.

From fan favorites Stone Temple Pilots and Australian alt-rockers Sick Puppies, to the expert hip-hop stylings of Kid Ink and Tinashe, we want to take you on a journey back to your favorite Heat Wave memories.

AFE brought the heat with these killer artist lineups in 2018 and 2019

Heat Wave was put on hiatus for 2020 out of health and safety concerns for our fellow soldiers stationed across the globe, but that doesn’t mean the party’s over.
As we develop new protocols to prioritize the health and safety of all tour attendees, performers, and support staff, we are aiming for Heat Wave to come back bigger, louder, and more action-packed than ever in 2021.
From the entire AFE Family, we salute you and your family for your dedication and sacrifice to our great nation, and we hope to see you in Summer 2021.

Heat Wave brought fun for the whole family for the July 4th holiday in 2019. We look forward to once again bringing the heat to families in 2021.
With their laid back style, easy-going rockers The Mowgli’s put on a heck of a live show.
Chris Kroeze turned the temperature up even hotter in the Middle East as a 4th of July headliner.
Crowd-favorite Danika Portz brought down the house in Southwest Asia, with her fun pop stylings and her bubbly, larger-than-life attitude.
Heat Wave headliner Kid Ink is no stranger to the big birds, thanks to AFE. The “Live Forever” rapper took Southwest Asia by storm. Check out his latest music video here.
