U.S. Navy veteran, chef, and pitmaster Moe Cason is slated to join the annual Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) Heat Wave tour in Diego Garcia from July 6 – 9, 2023. Cason will be presenting four shows from July 6-9. The four shows are scheduled to include cooking and barbeque clinics, cooking competitions, grilling technique presentations, and more.

After serving aboard USS Missouri, the Des Moines, Iowa, native turned the passion for cooking that he learned from his grandmother into a successful, multi-faceted food industry career.

The Des Moines, Iowa Ponderosa Barbeque founder has competed in more than 260 barbeque and grilling events across 35 states. Not only a U.S. Navy veteran but a veteran of the television screen, Cason has served as a contestant or judge on barbeque competition shows such as “BBQ Pitmasters,” “BBQ Pit Wars,” “Smoked,” “The Kitchen,” and “Chopped.” He also hosts “World of Flavor with Moe Cason” on National Geographic, available to stream on Disney+. Cason partnered previously with Smithfield to exclusively support the Walmart Summer Rib Program.
