AFE celebrates National Humor Month by highlighting our very own comedians who go on tour to bring the laughs, and a piece of home with every joke.
Tour Manager and headliner of Armed Forces Entertainment’s Zero Dork Nerdy, Vargus Mason is more than just hilarious. In fact, he’s a man of multiple voices and talents. Not only has he been called “The Human Cartoon,” but he also herds the fellow stand-up comedians who tour with him for the military.
Traveling all over the world to locales like Greenland, Curacao, Southwest Asia, and more, Vargus has been to at least 30 countries while traveling for the military as a stand-up comic. Back in November 2019, Mason was able to trek out once again with comedians Gabe Lopez, Adam Hunter, and Anthony de Guzman.

Not only is Mason known for his travels and voices, but he’s appeared on many stand-up specials, TV shows, and skits along the way. Vargus made it all the way to the semifinals of Last Comic Standing Season 4, he’s appeared on Comedy Central numerous times, on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and the Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav. Featured on Travel Channel’s Exposed, as well as a voice actor in Disney’s The Lion Guard, Vargus is truly a storyteller in many forms.
