Resonate is a high energy, interactive percussion troupe with a passion to uplift others through rhythm and sound. We encourage and empower humans of all ages. At its core, Resonate is about passion for music and love for the community. Resonate travels the world to bring you bombastic live shows and facilitate workshops that develop team building, listening skills, physical coordination, and self-confidence.
John began his music training with a focus in percussion in Fort Worth, TX. He went on to study percussion and music performance at
TCU where he got his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He was a proud member of the 2001 DCI world champions, the
Cavaliers, where he marched snare drum. In 2005, John was a member of the percussion group 6 to 1, where he did two tours with
The Great Moscow Circus. In 2007, he joined the cast of Stomp in New York City and from 2012-2017 he played the lead role in the
touring and New York production. John has toured all over the country and the world as a clinician and performer with various musical
productions and ensembles.
Mike has a passion for performing. In 2005, he joined DrumJam and has been performing on and off stage ever since. Mike is a
founding partner at Tilted Chair Creative, an advertising agency in Austin, TX. When he’s not at his day job in advertising, he spends
his time writing music.
Kris is the Founder and Artistic Director of Resonate. She has over two decades of rhythmic experience. Kris tours with the
international sensation, STOMP and has taught master classes all over the world. She has recorded performances on VH1, FOX, CNN,
and GMA. Kris was featured in issue #18 of the female celebrated magazine - Tom Tom Magazine. Kris is also a Pound Pro and
advocate for Boss Babes in Austin, TX. She is passionate about sharing positive messages all over the world.
Chris is the founder of Arms Wide Open - a program that provides a safe, comfortable, and positive environment for persons with
special needs that offers youth and adults with social delayed developmental and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate
in theatre productions. Chris is a master teacher in the fields of percussion, dance, choreography, instrumental music, producing a
Broadway production, writing a screenplay, writing music, producing a professional CD, and directing theatre. He performed with
Stomp for more than six years and performed with them in the US and overseas.
Chafic is the Co-Founder of Resonate. He is an FAA licensed pilot, professional aerial cinematographer, and an award winning
filmmaker. He is the founder of Kind Motion Pictures - a highly creative aerial cinematography organization that travels the world to
capture magic. He has been performing for over two decades and is an avid body percussionist and percussive performer. His
credentials include DrumJam and Stomp NYC.
Scott is a self-employed writer, performer, and dog-wrangler. He was born and raised in Austin, TX where he attended the University
of Texas at Austin earning a writing degree while creating music and video projects with an array of multi-talented friends. Shortly after
graduation, Scott moved to Chicago where he wrote music reviews for Chicago Magazine and formed a band called ChooChoo that
sits somewhere between grunge and gospel. Now, Scott splits his time between ChooChoo, writing sci-fi screenplays and recording a
debut solo album entitled Cosmi Hymnal for the Urban Midwest.
